  1. Display Romanized Texts (Rōmaji, Pinyin, etc)

Romanization systems are useful because they allow speakers of languages that use the Latin alphabet to read, pronounce, and learn languages written in non-Latin scripts without needing to first master the original writing system.

  2. Vocabulary Trainer

I often struggle to remember and use new words. I want a vocabulary trainer that's part of the game, so that it becomes easier for me to learn, recall, and confidently use a wider range of words in my conversations.

  3. Pronunciation Feedback

I want the game to give me immediate feedback on my pronunciation, so that I can learn from my mistakes and feel more assured that I'm speaking correctly.

  4. "Texting" with your AI learning buddy

The same way Duolingo and others allow for "streak freezes" which are a form of lenience on the routine of practice, I think it would be cool if LL allowed you to (maybe 3 times a month) use a "joker" to text with your AI avatars (or texting a loop provides waaaay less points/coins or something). Not as a replacement for speaking, but moreso for: the times when you can't speak out loud for 8 minutes and it's easier to textlearning how to text in general (my wife pointed out she can speak really well in German but can't text cause of the accents, same in Spanish)

  6. Add real-life knowledge and role-play scenarios for studying or working.

As the title suggests, I think we could add features that allow the main character we control to study or work, helping them gain more real-life knowledge. Since I’m a Vietnamese person who learned English quickly through part-time jobs in the U.S., I believe if we could "work" at various locations in the app, it would be very helpful for gaining real-life work experience. Plus, it would make things more fun. For example, the character could apply for a job at a coffee shop, learn how to apply for jobs realistically, and practice interacting with customers.

  7. The characters recall their previous conversations.

It would be amazing if characters could remember all the conversations they have. This way, they wouldn't ask the same questions repeatedly, and the experience of meeting locals would feel more natural and realistic. I understand that this idea raises some privacy and resource concerns. However, I am personally very much willing to give my consent if needed and even pay more if necessary.

  8. Flashcard practice: The ability to export our saves lists of words/phrases to be used in something like Anki

Maybe using external apps is discouraged, but idk how difficult it would be to incorporate a flashcard section into the app itself. If it is too complex to do in the more immediate future, maybe temporarily allow the export so we could do flashcard practice.

  9. School Location

I want a dedicated 'school level' in the game that focuses specifically on practicing various aspects of grammar, so that I can target my weak points, understand grammatical structures better, and become more proficient in using the language correctly.

  10. Phone Call Mode

It would be interesting to practice shorter phone calls; order, make appointments, etc...

  11. More realistic and natural conversations

I absolutely love this app but I realized that the conversations are sometimes very unnatural, strange, and unrealistic. The person i talk to doesn’t adapt to what I say. The reason I am learning Norwegian is because many people in my church are Norwegian so I want to be able to talk to them and understand them. When I was talking to the AI about spirituality, it was very weird because she kept talking about snowballs. I tried to change the conversation but every time i said something she would say something about snowballs. I told the AI to stop talking about snowballs and she kept yapping about snowballs, how does that have anything to do with faith or spirituality? I would really appreciate more realistic conversations and better ADAPTIVE learning. Thanks

  12. Speaking vs Listening Mode

I want the game to let me choose whether I practise speaking or listening comprehension. In listening mode, the avatar would speak 80% of the time. In speech mode, I would speak most of the time.

  13. Create Your Own Characters

I often want to tell the character who to be so that it’ll be directly applicable to my life. That would be so amazing. For example, I haven’t met a kid character yet and I wanted to practice telling the kids I teach chorus that I learned a bit of their language and to try teaching in the language. The Free Talk is nice because you can choose to talk about music for example, but the character won’t pretend to be 5 and in a music class for you. Anyway, I understand if that’s too hard to implement and I appreciate the space to make suggestions!

  14. Salon/Barber Location

I think this would be useful because many people go to a hair salon/barber shop regularly. A language barrier is also very stressful at a salon or barber shop, and it requires some specialized vocabulary if you want a specific thing done. You could make it just hair, or you could have different people there that talk about nail and spa stuff too in order to add some variety to it.

  15. In-App Tutorial

As a new player, I'm initially unsure about how to navigate the game and use its features effectively. I want an in-app tutorial that guides me through the game's workings, controls, and functionalities, so that I can quickly get comfortable with the game environment and focus more on enjoying and learning from the language experience.
