  3. "Texting" with your AI learning buddy

The same way Duolingo and others allow for "streak freezes" which are a form of lenience on the routine of practice, I think it would be cool if LL allowed you to (maybe 3 times a month) use a "joker" to text with your AI avatars (or texting a loop provides waaaay less points/coins or something). Not as a replacement for speaking, but moreso for: the times when you can't speak out loud for 8 minutes and it's easier to textlearning how to text in general (my wife pointed out she can speak really well in German but can't text cause of the accents, same in Spanish)

  4. Phone Call Mode

It would be interesting to practice shorter phone calls; order, make appointments, etc...

  5. Display Romanized Texts (Rōmaji, Pinyin, etc)

Romanization systems are useful because they allow speakers of languages that use the Latin alphabet to read, pronounce, and learn languages written in non-Latin scripts without needing to first master the original writing system.

  6. Homescreen Widget

It would be cool to have a Lingolooper homescreen widget! It could remind us of our streak count, show us avatars that want to talk to us (-> easily jump into loop), or even cycle through our bookmarks to help us remember them. Different sizing options would be appreciated! And maybe the choice between different widgets.. but which one do we need the most?

  7. Relationship Dynamics & Avatar Personalities

I'd like to see more relationship options - family, friends, romantic interests, coworkers, and even rival/enemy dynamics. The idea is to make the conversations and scenarios feel more natural, immersive, and varied. It would also be nice for the avatars to be more opinionated and not always so nice, so that the enemy dynamic feels more lifelike and the experience becomesΒ moreΒ engaging.

  8. School Location

I want a dedicated 'school level' in the game that focuses specifically on practicing various aspects of grammar, so that I can target my weak points, understand grammatical structures better, and become more proficient in using the language correctly.

  9. Speaking vs Listening Mode

I want the game to let me choose whether I practise speaking or listening comprehension. In listening mode, the avatar would speak 80% of the time. In speech mode, I would speak most of the time.

  11. Salon/Barber Location

I think this would be useful because many people go to a hair salon/barber shop regularly. A language barrier is also very stressful at a salon or barber shop, and it requires some specialized vocabulary if you want a specific thing done. You could make it just hair, or you could have different people there that talk about nail and spa stuff too in order to add some variety to it.

  15. Loop Goals

It would be great to have optional AI generated conversational goals for each loop. Things like: "Learn Alice's favorite boardgame." "Order a baguette with prosciutto." "Tell John about somewhere you've travelled." The AI can review transcripts after a conversation and asses if the objective was achieved in the transcript. If so, the user can be awarded extra experience points. I think this solves two issues with Lingo Looper quite well - it helps me avoid only talking about "comfortable" topics and forces me to stretch my vocabulary, and it helps deal with the fact that I often don't know what I want to say/do in a conversation and would be stumped even in my native language.
