  1. Vocabulary Trainer

I often struggle to remember and use new words. I want a vocabulary trainer that's part of the game, so that it becomes easier for me to learn, recall, and confidently use a wider range of words in my conversations.

  2. "Texting" with your AI learning buddy

The same way Duolingo and others allow for "streak freezes" which are a form of lenience on the routine of practice, I think it would be cool if LL allowed you to (maybe 3 times a month) use a "joker" to text with your AI avatars (or texting a loop provides waaaay less points/coins or something). Not as a replacement for speaking, but moreso for: the times when you can't speak out loud for 8 minutes and it's easier to textlearning how to text in general (my wife pointed out she can speak really well in German but can't text cause of the accents, same in Spanish)

  3. Create Your Own Characters

I often want to tell the character who to be so that it’ll be directly applicable to my life. That would be so amazing. For example, I haven’t met a kid character yet and I wanted to practice telling the kids I teach chorus that I learned a bit of their language and to try teaching in the language. The Free Talk is nice because you can choose to talk about music for example, but the character won’t pretend to be 5 and in a music class for you. Anyway, I understand if that’s too hard to implement and I appreciate the space to make suggestions!

  4. Dark Mode

As a frequent player, especially during evenings and nights, I often find the standard bright interface straining to my eyes in low-light conditions. I want a dark mode option in the game, so that I can continue learning comfortably without eye strain, making my language practice sessions more enjoyable and sustainable.

  5. Vacation vs Immigration Mode

As an immigrant, I have completely different requirements for learning a language than a vacationer. In addition to everyday things (restraurant, cafe, movie theater, shopping, grocery shopping, pharmacy,...) that would also affect me as a vacationer, there are, for example, visits to the authorities, housing, labor market, taxes (...).

  7. Streak save

I’m just going to be honest: I want a streak save, please. I’m on day 72, I think, for two reasons: I really enjoy this app as I like how you can continue conversations with characters and I really enjoy practicing my languages. I think this app is perfect as it is. The thing is I’m really sick right now, laryngitis, and I can’t speak for the life of me, and it doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to speak soon. So I’m doing all kind of ridiculous things to keep my streak, which for some reason, is pretty important to me as you can understandπŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ. So Mr. LingoLooper, can we have something as simple as a pause button ? Please? Thank you.

  9. Newspaper or Radio

I think it would be cool if you were able to buy a news paper or listen to the radio to the radio and inform yourself about what's going on in the city or country. This doesn't need to be everyday but maybe once a week would be cool to enhance the experience especially if you want to feel more like a local. Since we're living in the age of technology and screens I thought it would be cool to bring to back something more old school.

  10. Flashcards For Word Families/Categories

Combining features that other language apps have with the AI Avatar experience makes no need to use other apps. For example having a set of flashcards for each word family to practice with. Adopting a similar method to Mango Languages to get key phrases down perhaps?

  11. Remove a language

I would like to be able to remove a language from my profile if I just wanted to try it out and change my mind about studying it.

  12. Option to Type Your Corrections After Speaking

The transcription AI isn't perfect and sometimes gets stuck with certain words which is really frustrating when you know exactly what you are trying to say and have to repeat your sentences many many times. I would like to have an option to manually edit my input afterwards if the transcription is wrong and is unable to correctly identity which word I am saying. Maybe a pencil edit icon button I could push to manually type edit my response when my response shows on the screen, for example, it could be placed near where the "Get Feedback" button is during the time that button temporarily shows up below my response on the screen.

You can upload an RTF or PDF of your homework or a textbook, and then discuss it with your professor. Highly pertinent for many Lingo Looper users!

  15. Write out numbers

Numbers should be written fully (e.g. "nineteen") instead of 19, because seeing the literal number does not help me to learn it.
